Terms of Use
Version 2026-10-11 · Effective October 11, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the operator of RigMap ("RigMap", "we", "us"). They cover the RigMap iPhone app, its features and services, and the rigmap.co website. When you tap I Agree in the app, or use RigMap, you accept these Terms and the RigMap Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use RigMap.
1. You are always the driver
- RigMap gives route advice and information. It does not replace your judgement, posted signs, road and weather conditions, the law, your permits, your company's rules or a dispatcher.
- Always obey posted signs and limits for height, weight, length, width, axles, hazardous materials, turns, bridges, tunnels, truck bans and speed, even when RigMap shows something different.
- RigMap can be wrong. A route marked truck-safe can still include a low bridge, a weight limit, a no-truck road, a closure or another restriction we don't know about. A warning can also appear for a hazard that doesn't apply to you.
- Do not type, read long text, search, watch camera video or handle the phone while the vehicle is moving. Set your route before you drive, use voice features, or pull over safely. Follow the hand-held phone laws where you drive (US federal rules for commercial drivers and provincial distracted-driving laws in Canada).
- You are responsible for choosing a safe and legal route for your vehicle, load, permits and hours of service, and for checking clearances and restrictions yourself.
2. Who can use RigMap
- You must be at least 18 years old and hold any licence your driving requires.
- RigMap is not made for children and must not be used by anyone under 18.
- If RigMap requires a team access code, use it only within the team it was given to and don't publish it. We can change or revoke codes at any time.
3. Navigation, map and road information
Routes, restrictions, bridge clearances, posted speeds, lanes, traffic, incidents, closures, weather, border wait times, parking status, weigh-station status, fuel prices, truck entrances, camera images and other information come from public agencies, open map data, licensed providers and other drivers. They can be incomplete, delayed, out of date or wrong. Estimated arrival times, distances, costs and fuel figures are estimates only.
4. Traffic cameras
- Camera images and video come from US state and Canadian provincial transportation agencies. They are shown for your personal, real-time road information only.
- Feeds can be delayed, frozen, stale or offline. They usually show a road, not truck parking or a dock.
- Don't record, save, download, re-publish, sell or redistribute camera images or video from RigMap. The agencies own them and their terms apply.
- Don't watch camera video while driving.
5. AI features (RigMap Agent, RigMap IQ, picture maker)
- RigMap's AI features can answer questions, read documents you choose, suggest stops and routes, write letters and make pictures. AI answers can be wrong, out of date or incomplete. Check anything important, such as a rule, an address, a clearance, an hours-of-service limit or a load detail, against the real document, sign, regulation or authority.
- AI answers are not legal, medical, financial, tax or safety-compliance advice.
- The agent only does things in the app (such as searching, starting a route or opening a screen). It never drives for you, and it does not make phone calls, send email or apply for jobs by itself.
- When you use an AI feature, what you type or say (and any document text you choose to share with it) is processed on our servers or on your phone. See the Privacy Policy. Don't enter information you don't want processed this way, such as health information, government ID numbers, bank details or passwords.
- You must not use the AI features, or the pictures they make, to break any law; to exploit or harm minors; to make false information meant to harm others; to harass, defame or discriminate against anyone; to impersonate a real person; or to generate or share another person's private information.
- Some AI models RigMap uses are open models licensed with use restrictions. The restrictions in this section apply to every AI feature, on your phone or on our servers, and you agree to follow them.
6. Co-Pilot (live trip sharing and Full Assist)
- Co-Pilot lets you share your live trip with someone you choose by giving them a code. Only share the code with people you trust.
- Levels. Depending on the level you choose, your Co-Pilot can see your position, speed and direction, and (on higher levels) your destination, distance and time remaining, next turn and route; send you messages and map pins; and suggest stops or destinations.
- Full Assist (remote control). If you turn on Full Assist, you give your Co-Pilot one-time permission to see your RigMap screens and use the RigMap app on your phone for you until you turn it off. They can switch tabs, open screens and settings, search, move the map, plan, start, change or end a route, add or remove stops, change route options and type to your AI agent. They cannot see or change your profile, and they cannot use any other app on your phone. Screens do not change under you while you are driving. A "CO-PILOT CONTROLLING" banner shows while they are connected.
- You are responsible for whom you give the code to and for what happens through your session. You remain the driver: check any route or stop your Co-Pilot sets before you drive it.
- You can stop sharing at any time (tap Stop, pick a lower level or say "stop co-pilot"). Sharing also ends when you arrive or after 12 hours.
- Co-Pilot is not an emergency service. In an emergency call 911.
- Don't use Co-Pilot to track or control someone without their knowledge, or to harass anyone. You can report or block any message.
7. Jobs
- The Jobs feature shows job ads from third-party job boards and public carrier safety records. RigMap does not employ drivers, isn't a recruiter or employment agency, and doesn't check, endorse or guarantee any job, carrier, pay rate or ad.
- Your résumé and job profile stay on your phone. RigMap never sends an application for you: you choose to email or share it yourself, using your own email app.
- Check every carrier and offer yourself before you apply or share personal information.
8. Reports and content you send
- You can send reports (parking status, weigh-station status, diesel prices, ratings, road problems, truck entrances, no-truck roads, closures and more), Co-Pilot messages and other content.
- You confirm that what you send is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share it.
- You give RigMap a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual licence to store, use, adapt, combine and show your reports to other drivers and to improve RigMap. Reports are shown without your name.
- We may remove or edit any report or content.
9. Acceptable use
Don't:
- send false, misleading or spam reports, or reports meant to mislead other drivers;
- copy, scrape, download in bulk, resell or redistribute RigMap's data, routes, camera feeds or content;
- reverse engineer the app, get around limits or access controls, or interfere with RigMap's servers;
- use RigMap to stalk, track or harm anyone;
- use RigMap for anything unlawful.
10. Third-party data and services
RigMap uses map, traffic, road-condition, weather, search, camera and other data from government agencies, open-data publishers and licensed data providers, each under its own terms. The credits those licences require are listed in the app under Settings ▸ About ▸ Data sources & licences.
Company names, logos and brands shown in RigMap (such as truck stop and fuel chains) belong to their owners. They are shown only to identify locations; their use doesn't mean those companies endorse or are connected with RigMap.
We don't control third-party services or content and aren't responsible for them.
11. Our rights
RigMap, including its software, design, data compilations and route technology, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under these Terms and Apple's Usage Rules.
12. Beta and changes to the service
RigMap may be offered as a beta. Features may change, stop working or be removed, and the app may contain errors. We can change, suspend or end any part of RigMap at any time.
13. No warranty
RigMap is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that RigMap will be accurate, complete, safe, uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, RigMap and its owners, team and suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for vehicle damage, bridge or property strikes, accidents, injuries, fines, tickets, delays, lost loads, lost wages or lost profits arising from your use of RigMap or reliance on its information, AI answers, camera feeds, Co-Pilot sessions or job listings. Where liability can't be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for RigMap in the 12 months before the claim (zero while RigMap is free). Some places don't allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.
15. Indemnity
You agree to cover our losses and reasonable costs from claims caused by your misuse of RigMap, your content, or your breach of these Terms.
16. Ending use
You can stop using RigMap at any time by deleting it. We can suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if we stop offering RigMap.
17. Apple
These Terms are between you and RigMap, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for RigMap or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and isn't responsible for any product claims, legal-compliance claims or intellectual-property claims about it. If RigMap fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. You confirm you are not in a country under a US government embargo and are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
18. Governing law
[OWNER/LAWYER TO CONFIRM] These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that can't be waived (including in Québec).
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We'll change the version and date above. If a change is significant, the app will ask you to agree again before you continue using it.
